Corneal Physician Bulletin: Bald Eagle in Need of Funds for Cataract Surgery

            An ambassador bald eagle at New Mexico Wildlife Center, in Española, NM, is in need of funds for cataract surgery on his right eye, according to a small news item in the Santa Fe New Mexican.
            Named Dyami, which is the Native American term for eagle, the bird has been a resident of the Center since 2017. 
            Veterinary ophthalmologist Nancy McLean, of Albuquerque, examined Dyami. 
            The cost of the cataract surgery is estimated at over $,4,000.
