An ambassador bald eagle at New Mexico Wildlife Center, in Española, NM, is in need of funds for cataract surgery on his right eye, according to a small news item in the Santa Fe New Mexican.
Named Dyami, which is the Native American term for eagle, the bird has been a resident of the Center since 2017.
Veterinary ophthalmologist Nancy McLean, of Albuquerque, examined Dyami.
The cost of the cataract surgery is estimated at over $,4,000.
